You have made the choice to come in the UK, you have the appropriate visa and a job you enjoy. Here is some useful information that will enable you to live in the UK.

Once you have your UK visa, there are several important steps to take before moving:
Arrange accommodation: Secure a place to stay, whether it is temporary or permanent. You can look for rental or sale properties online, such as Rightmove, Zoopla, Net House Prices, Prime Location, OnTheMarket, GumTree or through local estate agents.
Plan your finances: Find out how to open a bank account in the UK and ensure you have enough funds to cover initial expenses like rent, utilities, and daily living costs.
Healthcare: Check the National Health Service (NHS) entitlements and how to register with a GP and dental services once you arrive. Check if you need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) as part of your visa application and how much it costs.
Employment: If you have a job lined up, ensure all necessary paperwork is completed. If not, start job hunting by searching the various job websites and prepare your CV according to UK standards.
Education: If you have children, arrange for their schooling. Research schools and understand the enrolment process. Find out the different types of schools; and how school admission works.
Transportation: Familiarise yourself with public transport options and consider getting a UK driving licence if you plan to drive.
Legal requirements: Make sure you understand and comply with any legal requirements, such as registering with the local council or police if required. You can participate in the local elections, but you will need to register to vote with your local council. Remember that English language skills are an immigration requirement.
Cultural adjustment: Learn about UK culture and customs to help you settle in more smoothly. If you need to improve your English language skills, the British Council offer free courses.
